40 West ArtLine Sculptures

PUNCH was selected to design three iconic sculptures for the 40 West ArtLine in Lakewood, CO. We designed three sculptures based on the Stegosaurus, Colorado's state dinosaur. The sculptures were built by Colorado based company IDSculpt. The first sculpture is Dermalplate Gateway, a kinetic sculpture with stegosaurus dermal fins that spin in the wind. Stegoskel is the second sculpture, fabricated out of a weathered steel exo skeleton based on a stegosaurus's internal structure with ipe wood seating. The third sculpture is Unearthed, a playful sculpture of sculpted GRFC fins that slightly come out of the ground, like a gentle giant slowly coming out of the earth.
